Mashable came out with a list today of 20 Great Free WordPress 2.7 Themes.
And, I’m glad that my theme Connections Reloaded has been featured in this list. Connections Reloaded is a two column, fixed width, widget ready theme based on Connections theme by Patricia Müller.

WordPress Wednesday: Implementing Asides in 3 Steps
I always wondered how Mark had those small yellow posts over at Weblog Tools Collection. It was only after a while that I realized that they are what are called Asides.
Asides as the name goes is something aside your normal content. I use the asides to link to to posts on which I don’t want to comment much about. However, I feel it valuable to point my visitors towards that link.
The Codex article on Asides is the first place to start and proved to me to be a great help when I wanted to implement asides on both my blogs.
You have the option to implement asides using WordPress plugins or if you’re like me, you would prefer modifying your template files to implement the same. Without further ado, let me explain how I implemented asides on this blog.

A New Look
Ever since I launched the blog a week back I kept thinking about a look for it. Stumbled across David Herreman‘s GreyWorld, which is a template for SNews.
Wrote to him for permission to port the same to WordPress, which he promptly gave.
Porting designs into WordPress isn’t has simple as I expected, however with practice I have been getting good at this!
Did a quick job of porting the basic structure of the template. Have done a good deal of modifications and I still have several more to go.
Am making a light but fully functional theme for this blog. I will continue adding features to this theme before I release it to the general public.
