At Techtites, we take privacy very seriously. By using this site or/and our services, you consent to the Processing of your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Policy.

Who we are

We are Techtites, run by Ajay D’Souza. Our website address is https://techtites.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so–for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

We use the Contact Form 7 and Flamingo plugins to manage contact form submissions. The information is stored indefinitely and only a select few are allowed to access.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

You can remove cookies stored in your computer via your browser settings. Alternatively, you can control some 3rd party cookies by using a privacy enhancement platform such as optout.aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com. For more information about cookies, visit allaboutcookies.org.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics and Ads

This site uses Google Analytics to help analyse how visitors use this site. Google Analytics automatically receives and record information from your browser, including your IP address (anonymized) and the page you request. To opt out, visit http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Additionally, we also use Google Adsense to display advertisements on this site. To opt out, visit https://adssettings.google.com.

Google Signals

Google Analytics will collect visitation information and associate it with Google information from accounts of signed-in users who have consented to this association for the purpose of ads personalization. This Google information may include end user location, search history, YouTube history, and data from sites that partner with Google—and is used to provide aggregated and anonymized insights into your users’ cross device behaviors. Your data may be accessed and/or deleted by end users via My Activity.

Review Google’s Privacy Policy.

We also use JetPack Ads on this site. View their Privacy Policy at https://jetpack.com/support/privacy/.

Log Files

As with most other websites, we collect and use the data contained in log files. The information in the log files include your IP (internet protocol) address, your ISP (internet service provider), the browser you used to visit our site (such as Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari or Firefox), the time you visited our site and which pages you visited throughout our site. These logs are set to delete automatically at regular intervals.

Who we share your data with

We will not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies. Data like your email address will not be made visible on the site, unless you choose to display it.

We use MailChimp as our marketing automation platform. If you sign up for our newsletter or choose to receive updates from us, the data you provide will be transferred to MailChimp for processing in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms.

Visitor comments are checked through Akismet, an automated spam detection service run by Automattic and you can view their privacy policy here.

We use CloudFlare to optimise the delivery of this site and improve security. View their privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

We use PayPal to process any purchases or donations made through this site. View their privacy policy at https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data

Techtites takes many precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. These precautions include:

  • Use of SSL encryption for sensitive data
  • Hardware stored in secured datacentres behind firewalls
  • All access to information restricted by password and/or secure key
  • Restrictions to what information can be accessed via any location

Whilst we take great care to ensure any confidential information remains protected we cannot guarantee the security of information. However, we promise to notify suitable authorities of data breaches. We will also notify you if there is a threat to your rights or interests. We will do everything we reasonably can to prevent security breaches and to assist authorities should any breaches occur.

Of course you are responsible for keeping your password and user details confidential. Nobody at Techtites will ever ask you for your password, so please don’t trust anybody asking you for it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this policy. You will always find the latest version of the policy on this page. We might also send you an email telling you about the update.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Thanks,
Ajay D’Souza
