Hookflash will allow you to make video calls, voice calls and messaging with any of your LinkedIn contacts around the world by using just your Wifi connection. If you have the iPad with Wifi and 3G/4G, then you can use your 3G or 4G network to call. Hookflash uses a data connection, so you won’t have to spend a lot of money making international calls.
After you install Hookflash, you can see your list of linked in contacts. Simply tap the LinkedIn contact you want to reach on Hookflash and instantly chat with them (video, voice and text).
If you’re worried about receiving “unsolicited” calls from contacts you don’t want to speak to, then you’ll need to wait for a future version. Hookflash plans on implementing the feature of groups, which will allow you to block calls if needed.
Hookflash is available for iPad1, iPad2 and iPad3, with iPhone and iPod versions in the pipeline.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see LinkedIn incorporating these features in their own apps. With this app, is it a good bye to your business phones?
