How to add your blog to Google Currents
Over the past few weeks I have been using Google Currents to read the latest news. Available for Android and iOS, Google Currents delivers beautiful magazine-like editions to your tablet and smartphone for high speed and offline reading.
If you’re running your very own blog which publishes an RSS feed, then adding your blog to Google Currents is extremely simple. You’ll need Google Chrome to login to the website so download the software before proceeding.
Once you have downloaded Google Chrome, visit the Producer website at https://www.google.com/producer. Once you sign into the website you’ll be prompted to create a new publication.
I’ve filled in the information for Techtites as above. And, you’re done! Well almost…
You’ll need to go about customising the content of your publication and finally set the publication date. You have tonnes of options available to customise including adding custom sections, video feeds, table of contents, photos, etc.
The best part about WordPress is that you have a feed for each category. This means you can create a complete set of sections for different categories of your blog which allows users to quickly find a particular sub-section they prefer reading. Once you are done with this, go ahead and publish your publication. It will be available for users to subscribe to. Google requires you to have at least 200 subscribers before you can appear in their catalog.
