Have seen a lot of Flock the past few days and decided to investigate. For those who don’t know yet, Flock is a new browser based on Firefox. Wasn’t really into downloading it until I saw Matt’s post which got me interested.
Following discussions at the WordPress support forums, bug #1713, the bug was fixed by Changset #2933 In simple English, WordPress confirms pingbacks with a blank user-agent. The latest version of Bad Behavior blocks sites with send a blank user agent, as this is a common technique being used by spammers to get through user agent filters. I faced a similar problem with Silktide and added their IP to the whitelist.
The last two days have seen long page loads along with temporary downtime at WordPress.com Well things seem to be back on track now. Though I do have a feeling that an older backup was used, because I seem to have lost a comment on my post below.
Had always hosted WordPress as my personal blog while chose to start using Blogger just as a test.
Have had some time to evaluate WordPress.com since I signed up two days ago.
Signing up was rather easy without having to fill in too much details. My first impression when after having logged in was the sleek looking interface.
After having used WordPress for over two years now this was the coolest look I found.
The dashboard is a lot more functional, but I think it can be developed still further.
The first thing I got down to was editting my Profile and the Options for my settings. Though, the profile page is extensive, I am a little disappointed by the amount of options available here.
