IndiaNewsBox is a new Indian startup that aims at being a news aggregator to display news on a single page while preserving the segregation in news source. Currently they offer news from the following categories: National Headlines International Headlines Business Sports -> Cricket Technology News Showbiz Regional News -> Hindi Regional News -> Kannada Market News Indian Blogs Each page has nine different sources for news. Clicking on an article takes you to the respective page.

WordPress Wednesday: A Plugin A Day

All this month of April, the folks at Weblog Tools Collection will be taking up a single plugin every day and reviewing it in detail. The purpose is to highlight some of the outstanding (for various reasons) plugins available today as well as provide a means for the WordPress community to tell the authors what they actually want. The series began on Monday and you can expect six posts a week (Sunday is the weekly off).

Tool Tuesday: IE NetRenderer

If you’re on a Mac or you have already upgraded to Internet Explorer 7, then you’ll be pretty lost about how your site looks like on lower versions of Internet Explorer. For me this is a big problem because half my visitors to my several sites are still using IE6 and you have to admit that IE6 is a pathetic browser. IE7 is a lot more compliant and displays sites a lot correctly than its predecessors.

Tip Thursday: Double-click and Shutdown Windows

Normally to shutdown Windows, you need to go to you Start Menu » Turn Off Computer » Turn Off I use my keyboard for this purpose by hitting in the shortcut keys, Windows Key followed by U and U. Carol has a tutorial on getting the same thing done by creating a Windows shortcut. You can create a Shortcut on your Desktop (read a similar tutorial) with shutdown -s -t 01 The -s issues the shutdown command and the -t 01 sets the time to one second.
