WordPress 2.7.1 Released

I reported on WLTC that 2.7.1 RC1 was released for testing and now the final version of WordPress 2.7.1 is available for download / upgrade. 2.7.1 fixes 68 tickets.

If you already have WordPress 2.7 or 2.7.1 RC1 installed, you’ll receive an update notification that will allow you to upgrade WordPress from within WP-Admin itself. You can upgrade by visiting Tools > Upgrade in WP-Admin. This will upgrade the files and the database as well in one step.

If you’re using 2.6.x or below you will need to manually upgrade.

Unlike earlier, I won’t be providing any upgrade file since, WordPress has made this possible and that is the easiest and recommended method to upgrade your installation.

- Download WordPress 2.7.1

  • Have you used the auto-upgrade feature yet? Since this is the first chance, I’m a bit wary of losing all my data. Guess I’ll just back up and give it a shot…

    • I have. It worked perfectly on my blogs.

  • The upgrade step is really easy and smooth using upgrade tool from WP.

  • Ajay does this update fix the WLW and wordpress stripping tags issue ??

    • I don’t know if this is the case. The list of bugs fixed doesn’t list this problem, so I assume no. Again the stripping tags isn’t truly a problem with WordPress, but with libxml and PHP. There would only be a workaround solution, sadly.
