I’ve seen a lot of “ads” on websites asking you to shift to Firefox. But, it isn’t often that you see an ad asking you to shift to IE. But, today while checking my Yahoo! Mail on the Classic interface, I saw this. (Check the text I circled) It leads you to a download page where Yahoo! is distributing a customised version of Internet Explorer 8, optimized for Yahoo! When I first tried out Internet Explorer 8 beta 1, I quickly uninstalled it because it just wouldn’t stay without crashing ever few minutes. When Beta 2 was released, I was a bit reluctant to make the jump but the geek inside me wouldn’t let me not install it. And, i was impressed. The Twitter Blog reported last week that people are receiving emails which contain links to a phishing site asking you to enter your login details. I decided to check it out today and was surpised to see that the entire twitter interface has been converted to that of Facebook, which means that they are now getting ready for a Facebook phishing scam! Microsoft has finally gone ahead and released Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1. This release is aimed at Web Developers and Testers to understand what Microsoft has in store.
