Yahoo! publicizing the Internet Explorer

I’ve seen a lot of “ads” on websites asking you to shift to Firefox. But, it isn’t often that you see an ad asking you to shift to IE. But, today while checking my Yahoo! Mail on the Classic interface, I saw this. (Check the text I circled) It leads you to a download page where Yahoo! is distributing a customised version of Internet Explorer 8, optimized for Yahoo! The browser has a built in Yahoo! Homepage, Yahoo! Toolbar and Yahoo! Search for quick access to Yahoo! Download Internet Explorer 8, optimized for Yahoo!

Download all versions of Internet Explorer

If you’re an Internet Explorer fan or just a collector of software, then this one is for you. Download Internet Explorer 8 RC1

When I first tried out Internet Explorer 8 beta 1, I quickly uninstalled it because it just wouldn’t stay without crashing ever few minutes. When Beta 2 was released, I was a bit reluctant to make the jump but the geek inside me wouldn’t let me not install it. And, i was impressed. Twitter Phishing Scam now becomes Facebook Phishing Scam

The Twitter Blog reported last week that people are receiving emails which contain links to a phishing site asking you to enter your login details. I decided to check it out today and was surpised to see that the entire twitter interface has been converted to that of Facebook, which means that they are now getting ready for a Facebook phishing scam! Good news is that Internet Explorer (with Website Checking Enabled), Firefox 3 (Firefox 2 did not block the site) and Google Chrome all display big warnings. Microsoft releases Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1

Microsoft has finally gone ahead and released Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1. This release is aimed at Web Developers and Testers to understand what Microsoft has in store. Considering that the browser is still so fresh, an emulate Internet Explorer 7 button has been put in to browse the web similar to using Internet Explorer 7.
