Get your Windows 7 Beta Genuine Activation Keys

Windows 7 Beta was released two days and Microsoft’s servers went for a toss. The problems have now been fixed and you can now download the ISO directly from Microsoft servers. You can even pick it up using Bittorrent or other Torrent software.

However, to use Windows 7 Beta, you need to register at Microsoft to receive a serial key. Without the key, Windows 7 will expire in 30 days. Of course, with the key it expires on August 1, 2009. So, please do not consider this as your free lifetime copy of Windows 7. Run it to test it not to keep it.

Anyway Blog Solute shows you how you can lay your hands on free genuine keys.

  1. Visit Microsoft TechNet.
  2. Click on Sign In link on the top right corner, and login to Microsoft TechNet with a valid Windows Live ID. You can log in even if you’re not a TechNet subscriber.
  3. Copy and paste the following URL to the address bar of the web browser tab or window used to login to Microsoft TechNet:
  • 32-bit Product Key: http://tinyurl.com/6t8vsa
  • 64-bit Product Key: http://tinyurl.com/9c2saj

Here are two activation keys each, in case you run into an error.

Brandon LeBlanc on the Windows Blog said that for the next two week they will allow any number of users to download Windows 7 beta. The upper limit of 2.5 million downloads has been removed from the existing two week period. What hasn’t been mentioned is the number of serial keys. I believe they will be generating more than 2.5 million of those.

Have you run into any problems activating Windows 7? What has been your experience so far?
