Game for the weekend: PITFALL!
If you remember the old Atari consoles of the 20th century, you might remember Pitfall! which became the second best selling video game for Atari 2600.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of its release, Activision released a re-envisioned version of the game for iOS a few months back. I installed it on my iPad and loved the game. Unfortunately Activision hadn’t released a version for Andriod until late December.
Need I say that I now have PITFALL! running on my Nexus 7
Escape the wrath of an angry volcano while collecting ancient treasures in PITFALL!, an adrenaline-fueled, free-running adventure set in a deadly jungle with twists and turns that will always keep you on your toes. As the iconic Pitfall Harry, test your skills by racing through jungles, caves and native villages while avoiding death-defying obstacles such as fiery volcanic flames, tumbling ancient artifacts, and narrow cliff side pathways. Challenge your reflexes by jumping, sliding, and using your deadly whip to take out classic PITFALL! foes like rattlesnakes and scorpions while avoiding the death grip of a crocodile’s jaw as you swing across ravines. Make sure to always keep a watchful eye as danger lurks around every corner!
If you’ve played Temple Run (who hasn’t), you’ll find the new PITFALL! very familiar. But, the game delivers a lot more. In addition to just jumping and sliding, you get to kill rattlesnakes and scorpions as well as ride jaguars, bikes and mine cars.
The game is more fast paced and you’ll notice obstacles like broken trees just pop in your way at the last second which definitely tests your reflexes a lot more.
PITFALL! is an enjoyable experience. The game will keep you hooked on for hours, if not days. If you haven’t played it already, do give it a shot and let us know your experience. If you have, what do you think of the new PITFALL?
