Share your bookmark across browsers with Transmute
If you’re like me you probably have a huge number of browsers installed on your system. And surprisingly, I use most of them at some point of time or the other. One main reason is for testing whenever I am working on a new theme or site.
If you’re using browsers for browsing, you will feel lost when you don’t have all your favorites in place.
Transmute is a bookmark converter that enables you to import and export your bookmarks and favorites between Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera, Apple Safari, Chromium, Flock and Konqueror. You can export bookmarks to the root or a designated subfolder and also create a backup file.
Transmute boasts of several features besides just the multiple browser support. For starters, Transmute will timestamp and back up your bookmark collections before changes are made, providing extra safety.
It can also run on Linux and Mac via use of the Mono Framework and if you decide to go pro (for a fee), you get tonnes of features including support for Google Bookmarks and Delicious.

Opera 10.0 Apha passes the Acid3 Test with a perfect 100/100. I ran the test on other browsers and they were far far behind!

Opera 9.2 – Now with SpeedDial
Think of Opera to find innovative methods to make our browsing smoother.
The newest release of Opera now includes SpeedDial.
SpeedDial looks very much like your regular phone dial and functions similar to your mobile phones’ speed dial feature.
You can add your favorite sites to the speed dial and whenever you open a new tab you can access the sites with one click. Alternatively, you can also use Control + 1 through Control + 9 to access the sites.
Besides the new feature, the release changelog also mentions several security fixes and the addition of Developer Tools.
Did I specify that Opera is my favorite browser? I’m just waiting for the 9.2 release for U3 portable to put it on my pen drive.

Tip Thursday: about:blank saves bandwidth
about:blank as many of you will just open a blank page. By default Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera are set to open up a webpage on connecting to the internet.
Most of the time you won’t be interested in opening that default page. The result is unncessary wastage of bandwidth. This gets severe if you are on a limited download plan with your ISP.
By using about:blank as you start page of your browser you’re ensuring that when your browser is opened you do not load any page.
The above screen shows you the Options window of Internet Explorer, which you can access via Tools > Options.
Both Firefox and Opera make it easier for you to both maintain a home page as well as open the blank page when opening the browser. You can enter the homepage, but select to open a Blank Page whenever the browser is opened.
This is the setting I follow for bother the browsers
