Take remote access of your computer with Chrome Remote Desktop
Early 2010, we blogged about three tools that help you remotely control your desktop. There are several more tools and a new kid to hit the block is from our very only Google in the form of the Chrome Remote Desktop.
Google Chrome Desktop is an extension for Google Chrome that allows users to remotely access another computer using the Chrome browser or a Chromebook.
Using the extension is very simple. The extension on the target computer will generate an access code as below.
This access code needs to be presented to the “assisting” computer user who needs to feed it into his program and simply hit “Connect”.
And, you’ll have complete access to the target computer.
Chrome Remote Desktop BETA is fully cross-platform, so you can connect any two computers that have a Chrome browser, including Windows, Linux, Mac and Chromebooks. However, the smoothness of the connection will be highly dependent on the speed of your internet connection.
The extension is ideal for one time connection, e.g. when you’re providing IT support. If you’re looking for non-manual intervention, you will need to look for a more permanent solution like LogMeIn.

Search the Internet by Speaking in Google Chrome
Google Chrome has always been my first choice when it comes to browsers because it is fast, efficient and comes with handy extensions and web apps. Recently, I came across an excellent extension, Voice Search, which enables Google Chrome users to search the web speaking the keyword and it will search the item on the desired search engine. In order to use the extension, make sure your microphone is connected.
To use the voice feature, all you have to do is install the extension and a small microphone will appear right next to the address bar in Google Chrome.
Using the extension is really simple and straight forward. Just click on the microphone and a small popup will appear. Now hold click on the mic button and speak what you want to search.
You can customize the search engine as well by clicking on the drop down menu and selecting the website where you want to search the specific keyword.
You can even add custom websites and use them as search engine. To do that, right click on the icon and go to options. There you will see the list of default websites which you can search. Now, write the name and URL of the website you want to add and press Enter.
Voice Search is an excellent extension for Google Chrome which can really change the way we search the internet these days and can really save time as well.

Easily Manage Browsing Sessions in Google Chrome
There is no such feature in Google Chrome which allows users to manage their sessions so that they can be opened later. Today, we came across an excellent extension for Google Chrome, Session Manager, which enables users to manage their session in Google Chrome and open them quickly any time. The default option in Google Chrome only restores the last browsing session and if your browser suddenly crashes, you can lose all opened tabs.
With Session Manager, you can manage multiple browsing sessions, rename them, open or remove them anytime. First of all, download and install Session Manager. A small icon will appear right next to the address bar along with other installed extensions as shown below:
Click on the Session Manager icon and it will automatically save the current opened session. Just rename the session and click Save. You can later open this session by clicking on the Open button for that session.
Session Manager is a really useful extension for Google Chrome which can really save your time so that you don’t have to open all the tabs again and again.

Facebook is highly popular social network. Like many other Facebook users, I also upload my pictures on the network for my friends and family to see. One problem I have personally faced while view others’ Facebook pictures is that sometimes a photo does not properly load up when I click it. Moreover I have to open pictures in a new tab if I do not want to navigate away from an album.
Tired of these issues, I decided to find something that would help me view Facebook photos in a better way. Thankfully I have now found this tool – Facebook Photo Zoom.
Facebook Photo Zoom is a browser extension for Google Chrome. After you install, no icons are added to Chrome’s address bar, and no clutter is formed. What is added to Chrome is a simple but highly useful functionality: with the extension installed, each time you hover your mouse pointer over to a photograph thumbnail, the photograph’s full size is instantly shown in a gloating window. The caption of the photograph is shown in the bottom left of the floating window.
This photo zoom features works for photo thumbnails in Facebook albums as well as Facebook profile picture thumbnails.
Needless to say, Facebook Photo Zoom has saved me many mouse clicks and the inconveniences I faced while viewing Facebook photos. I am positive the extension will have the same advantageous effect for you.

How To Have Remarkable Control Over A Website’s Layout
In addition to its content, a website’s layout and design play major roles in the website’s success. As a site visitor you would not want to visit a site that has the information at a different part of the page than you would prefer. Other things that you as a visitor might not be happy with are particular fonts used on a website, the colors and backgrounds used, and the borders of the tables.
If you are facing such a problem on any website, one of the things you could do is send an email to the developer or fill out the website’s feedback form. However a much faster and effective solution is the free tool Styelbot.
Style is a browser extension for Google Chrome. The extension gives you remarkable control over a website’s layout. After you install the extension, you see a “CSS” icon in your URL bar. Go to any website and click on this icon. A side window will appear.
The next step is to select any webpage element. As you hover your mouse pointer over the page, its elements will be highlighted – this will help you in choosing.
With the element highlighted you can return to the sidebar where the controls are. There you can change the element’s font style and size, colors and backgrounds, etc.
You can enter the Advanced options in the sidebar and edit custom CSS for your selected elements.
If at any time you want to undo the changes, the Reset buttons at the bottom of the sidebar will help.
Once you have made your changes, your webpage’s view will remain the same every time you visit it.
