What to Do When Someone Steals Your Website Content

site content

Creating content for the Internet is a challenge. On the one hand, without constant content creation, websites lose traffic and become irrelevant. On the other side of the equation, some unscrupulous webmasters and bloggers regularly seek fresh content from other sites, recycling it on their own pages. Not only is this blatantly unfair, but it could be costing the copyright owner lost revenue from advertising and sales. Fortunately, there are a few different steps that content owners can take to make certain their material is not used without permission. Taking a Proactive Approach “With the size of the Internet ever…

Match Made in Heaven

Small business owners have special considerations when looking for a company to host their website. Is the web host dependable? Are their prices affordable? Do they offer sufficient support for small businesses? Can they reliably support a shopping cart or other tools needed to communicate with clients? Perhaps most importantly, are they adaptable enough to handle changing business needs and the growth of the business? What if the need develops for multiple domain web hosting? There are many web hosting companies offering services to small businesses, but each web host is unique in not only the services but the level…

DivShare, the free file hosting site did come with a bang. It did expand quickly due to its easy integration with WordPress as well as Facebook. However, four days back, in a post at DNForum, DivShare has been put up for sale. It seems more like an auction as the price has not been mentioned and the user has been requesting quotes via PM. Techcrunch caught on the story, which was originally posted at sitesfs and the news of this has spread. Techcrunch states that the developers of DivShare are silent about the sale. I haven’t used DivShare much, infact…

Flickr introduces Collections … only for Pro Users

The only reason I haven’t been using Flickr so far has been the lack of ability to have subalbums or subsets. However, yesterday Flickr launched “Collections”. You can now create your sets of photographs normally and you can create a main set (collection) which will include certain sets. You can create your hierarchy as deep as five collections. However, this feature is useful only for Pro users who have the ability to create unlimited sets. I’ve long since considered moving my photos to Flickr, but the only thing that stopped me so far was this. I’m going to get myself…
