How to add your Google Apps Mail account to Thunderbird
One thing that I love about Postbox is it’s complete support for tonnes of email services. However, sadly, Postbox has turned paid. As a result, I decided to give Thunderbird 3 beta a shot. And, I’ve come back disappointed.
One main reason I jumped to Postbox is that Gmail takes an hour to load on normal non-broadband connections. Besides Gmail, Yahoo and Windows Live Mail, I also use Google Apps for email (yes I know a lot of email addresses!)
So, I was rather surprised to find that Thunderbird (on which Postbox is based), doesn’t directly support Google Apps, as it does Gmail POP and Gmail IMAP. So, in this post, I will guide you through adding your Google Apps account now.

Backup Everything with MailBrowserBackup
If you’re running tonnes of browsers on your system and one or more email clients, you’ll know that backing these up is a really painful experience. Each tool has a separate software that helps you backup and some others don’t even have that.
Things are different with MailBrowserBackup.
MailBrowserBackup is a simple utility for creating complete backups of Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Windows Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, IncrediMail, Opera Browser, Apple Safari, Google Chrome, SRWare Iron, FileZilla FTP Client, eMule profiles. Ok, not all yet, but they are soon to be added into the list.
Features:
- Multi-threading: you can backup and restore more profiles simultaneously
- Written in C#, so in the next release it will work on Linux too (Mono 2.0 required)
- Completely open source
You’ll need .NET Framework 2.0 or above if you want to run this software
The only thing I’m “worried” about is that the same is hosted on 110mb, as I’ve seen many of these programs die out. Hopefully, the author moves this over to SourceForge.

Protect your email from spam with scr.im
Fed up of spam in your Inbox, especially from forums, social networking sites, websites etc. where you shared your email at one point of time?

Undo Sending email in Gmail
Ever send an email out only to realize you’ve forgotten an attachment or even worse, it’s gone to the wrong person!
Now, in Gmail Labs, you’ll find a new feature that will delay the sent email for five seconds before it is sent. During this time you will be hit the Undo button and stop the email from being sent.
If you close Gmail before the message disappears or if your browser crashes, or if you just don’t do anything, Gmail will continue to send the email.

Protect your Email with Temporary Inbox
Ever register on a site and then find out that your inbox is clogged with emails from there? Hence, it is usually recommended that you signup at sites with a secondary email address.
Or, you can create a disposable email address at temporaryinbox.com
A temporary inbox is a disposable email address, which doesn’t require registration and can be used to avoid spam. Use this email address in forums, lotteries, erotic sites or wherever. The spammers will never find out your private email address.
