Sing along with your music with AutoLyrix (Multimedia Monday)
Who doesn’t love singing with the music playing in the background. And singing is extremely easy when you have the lyrics of your favorite song in front of you.
One option is to individually search for lyrics of your song online or alternatively, get hold of a simple software that does the job.
AutoLyrix was designed to download Lyrics, AlbumArt (artwork) and SyncLyric (LRC files) automatically.
Using Autolyrix is extremely simple. Download and install the software and run it. Run your favorite music player (see supported players) and play the song of your choice. I tried out several songs and Autolyrix correctly fetched the lyrics for these.
AutoLyrix uses Google to search (Lyrics and AlbumArt). AutoLyrix has its own library, so you can submit AlbumArt, Lyrics and SyncLyrics so other users can get the right content for whatever they are listening to!

K-Lite Mega Codec Pack (Multimedia Monday)
Have you ever opened up a video file only to get an error that it cannot be played. Or maybe you can at least hear the audio but see a blank screen.
Well, in all probability you have the required codecs missing. Short for compressor/decompressor, a codec is any technology for compressing and decompressing data.
There are several codec packs available, which not only install the basic codecs but also a wide variety of useful multimedia software.

iPod in the Air!
Reuters reports that Apple is in a deal with major airlines to enable iPod users to connect their iPods to in-flight entertainment systems and watch their favorite videos without fear of running out of battery power while traveling.
The service will begin in the middle of next year and six airlines will begin to offer this.
With the launch of Zune just yesterday, this is an interesting breakthrough for Apple. For regular flyers, buying an iPod will turn out to be a good option indeed.
Aren’t I glad I bought an iPod
