Fun Friday: Eyegas Flash Games

Lets take a look this week at yet another gaming site. Well, it isn’t exactly a gaming site but the site with a lot of flash games. I stumbled upon this site via Connected Internet and tried out the Sprouts Game which was designed for last Christmas. The games are easy and it is good fun for a while. There is a lot of exploring to be done. And do tell me your highest scores!

Fun Friday : Zapak

Let me begin the very first article of Techtites Daily by reviewing a new gaming portal I found lately. The portal is known as Zapak and it claims to be India’s largest portal for free Online Casual, single player & Multiplayer Games. The site is still in its beta stages so you can expect some ups and downs, especially while signing in. I signed up recently and will admit that I am really impressed by the quality of the games there. I’m not much of a gamer, but just to pass the time I usually play some game. Having the…

Nintendo sells 600,000 units in 8 days

The WII was released on Nov. 19 and just eight days later ITWorld reports that over 600,000 units have been sold. This indeed spells great success for Nintendo. This averages 75,000 units a day which is well above the number of PS3s sold at the time of the release in Japan. The Wii costs $249.99. It was released just two days after the PS3 in USA.

WII Release to the Masses

Just as people thronged in Japan and US to pick up their PS3, the release of Nintendo’s WII also saw a similar situation. Lines outside Times Square Toys “R” Us store in New York snaked upto a thosand people all awaiting the midnight release of Wii. Toys “R” Us Times Square in Manhattan and GameStop at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles were the two places that featured in the midnight launch. And at midnight, Isaiah “Triforce” Johnson, 29, purchased the first Wii, which he got autographed by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. The Wii costs $249.99 (way less than…

$9000 or one life; that is what a PS3 costs!

It may be a gamers delight but $9000 for a PlayStation 3 is simply outrageous. But, that is what the PS3 is currently being sold for on eBay, not to mention the $99,999,999.00 PS3! The unit costs $600. Even standing in the line in the cold winter sun would work out cheaper than $9000. In another report, a man was shot early on Nov. 17 outside a Wal-Mart store in Connecticut while waiting to buy a unit. This seems to have been an armed robbery and not really a gamers riot! He was among the many who waited for over…

PlayStation 3 released in the US

After 86,400 units in two days, Sony has released the PlayStation 3 in the US as scheduled. What I am really surprised about is the lengths that people have gone through just to buy a PS3. Reuters reports that some gamers waited for more than two days outside Sony’s Manhattan store. Seems like the bad year for Sony is finally looking up. Faced with delays, manufacturing problems, stock shortage and games incompatibility, the PS3 has overcome them all to become one of the most favorite consoles on the market. Now, we just need to see how Nintendo succeeds with WII,…

Sony Upgrades Software to Fix PS3 Glitches

Soon after the launch of Play Station 3, it was found that around 200 PS/PS2 games weren’t running on it. Sony has now upgraded their software to make it compatible with these games. Users will receive the same via an online upgrade. A Sony spokesman said the glitches in the 200 games in question were related mostly to audio problems and conflicts caused by the fact that the game controllers, held in users hands as they direct the action on the screen, differ from one PlayStation generation to the next. For example, buttons found on a PS One may not…

Your PS/PS2 Game may not run on the PS3

PCMag News reports that the PS3 which was launched just three days back and has already sold 86,400 copies has problems when playing about 200 software games from PS and PS2. The PS3 was expected to play all games from the previous versions. The exact reason for this is still not known, though it is believed to be a “normal” expected software glitch. Sony plans to use an online update to patch the software. What happens to the fate of the 86,400 units? Or will we just move on like we do with old PCs!

88,400 in 2 days, that’s what Sony sold!

The PlayStation 3 was released in Japan just two days back and Reuters reports that 88,400 units have already been sold! I don’t think even Sony expected such a craze for their gaming console. Unfortunately for them, only 100,000 units were available for launch because of a glitch in blue laser diode production. The PS3 basic model sells at $425. This has a 20GB hard drive. The advanced model with 60GB sells for $510. The PS3 is Sony’s answer to Microsoft’s XBox 360 and Nintendo’s WII (scheduled for launch on Nov. 19) Sony plans to release the PS3 in North…
