Well, I haven't but Google sure has. At least according to its auto-suggest feature.

Autocomplete Me tries to collect some of the funny auto-suggestions given by Google. Most of the site is driven by user submissions and though the site is only a few months old, it has been steadily gaining popularity.

But, if you want to search both, you can choose to switch between windows, or even better save yourself some time and search using Bing vs. Google.

It is not a new concept, but rather quite an old one right from several years back when you had Google, Yahoo! and the erstwhile MSN.

There are still quite a few features that I would like to see added in Bing, the most common one being the use of "define:" for quickly hunting the meaning of words/phrases.

This method will work for MPG files for sure, but rarely for AVI or WMV files.

1. Open a command prompt window – click START > RUN…  Type in  cmd
2. Navigate to the folder where the multiple mpg clips are stored, ( If they're in C:\Vids, type in "cd\Vids")
3. Say you want ALL the clips to be merged into one file, so type this in:

copy /b *.mpg FullMovie.mpg

Using COPY to merge multiple video clips

ALL your clips will now be merged into the large FullMovie.mpg

TIP: name your files in the order you want them to be merged:

clip001.mpg
clip002.mpg
clip003.mpg

clip015.mpg etc.

That's it! If you'd rather customise the order, use the format:

copy /b FILE1.mpg + File314.mpg + File256.mpg OutputFile.mpg

The above example will merge File1, File314 and File 256 one after another into OutputFile.mpg

There are times when we need to grab media like images, audio and sometimes even embedded video files from various sites. Rather than right-clicking on each element, here's a quick an easy way to grab all the media you want using Firefox's native functionality – no additional plugins like DownThemAll needed.

We're gonna use the Page Info feature of Firefox to help us in our efforts. On the page that you wish to grab the images from, click TOOLS > PAGE INFO to bring up the Page Info window.

In the corresponding window that opens up, click the MEDIA tab:

Next, select the media that you want to save to disk like the Images, Icons, Backgrounds and embedded Flash applets. This method also allows you to bypass the scripting used by some sites to disallow right-clicking on images and save the image. Selecting a single entry in this list also displays the entry in a small preview window at the bottom although seleting multiple entries automatically collapses this section.

All isn't rosy with this feature however, there still exists an unresolved bug whereby the columns cannot yet be sorted, else this would have been a great feature – sorting by size or by the type of media would have made things much easier.

One main reason I jumped to Postbox is that Gmail takes an hour to load on normal non-broadband connections. Besides Gmail, Yahoo and Windows Live Mail, I also use Google Apps for email (yes I know a lot of email addresses!)

So, I was rather surprised to find that Thunderbird (on which Postbox is based), doesn't directly support Google Apps, as it does Gmail POP and Gmail IMAP. So, in this post, I will guide you through adding your Google Apps account now.

Open up Thunderbird and navigate through File > New > Account.

Select Email account and then enter your details on the next page. You need to enter the primary email address that you use with your Google Apps. We can add alternate addresses later.

In the next screen you need to select between POP and IMAP. Google recommends IMAP and that is also something I prefer. Select IMAP and enter the incoming server as imap.gmail.com and the outgoing server as smtp.gmail.com.

The next screen will ask you for the username to use for the incoming and the outgoing server. This will be same as the email address we used in the first step above. And, finally give the account a name. This can be anything you would like to use.

The last screen will allow you to review the settings and now you have your Google Apps mail account added to Thunderbird!

TweetStats.com offers charting and graphs to better let you understand your usage habits. There are charts that'll show you the average number of tweets per day as well as an average weekly analysis showing you the days and times that you normally tweet in.  A detailed timeline showing off the monthly tweeting activity is also charted. Two additional charts that were of particular interest to me were the RT chart which indicated the users whose tweets you re-tweeted most often and of course the friend replies chart which shows you the users you respond to the most. Twitalyzer:  I found Twitalyzer to be a little faster than TweetStats. What makes this stand out from other twitter graphing services is it's concepts of what makes for a useful and productive Twitter profile. Twitalyzer analyzes your previous tweets and then describes characteristics such as Influence, Signal, Generosity, Velocity and Clout.

Influence as described in the FAQ is calculated based on:

• Your relative reach in Twitter, measured by the number of followers you have
• Your relative authority, measured by the number of times you are "retweeted"
• Your relative generosity, measured by the number of times you "retweet" others
• Your relative clout, measured by the number of times you are referenced by others
• Your relative velocity, measured by the number of updates you publish over a seven day period

Signal The Signal-To-Noise ratio is a measure of the tendency for people to pass information, as opposed to anecdote, meaning tweets that either retweet or contain a link URL. Basically, it's a measure of apparently useful tweets to the community.

Generosity is quite simply a measure of how often you retweet other users' tweets and spread the word.

Velocity Simply put, it's how often you tweet. This stat is judged against a theoretical maximum of 1,500 updates per week.

Clout is the likelihood that other people will reference you in Twitter, as in "gee that @techtites sure does drive a lot of traffic!" The more people who reference you, the higher your clout.

Twitter Grader

Twitter Grader grades and ranks the Twitter profile of choice based upon a number of factors, as detailed in this post. It also offers an overall grade out of 100 and your ranking based on that grade. It's simple, easy to use and the one reason it brought a smile to my face were the inane updates displayed in the box while the script was attmpting to nail down the calculations.

A final note – All of the above services are open, meaning NO authentication is required. You're free to view the statistics of ANY twitter user who has an unprotected timeline (which is pretty much the vast majority of tweeple out there). Naturally, statistics for more successful twitters with a large number of tweets and followers will take far, far longer to compute – so grab a cuppa if you're planning on seeing stats for @StephenFry, @mashable, @scobleizer et al.

There are a couple of ways to find out, the easiest being using a service that will benchmark your system telling you how good it is and where it stands in comparison with today's technology. There are other ways to find out too, like if you can't have Gtalk and MSN running at the same time and alt-tabbing between programs gives you enough time for a bathroom break, it's probably time to upgrade.

There are quite a few different nifty little pieces of software out there that will test your system for you. One of the easiest ways, I've found, is to just do a online benchmarking test to give you an idea of whether you're Fred Flintstone or George Jetson.

You can do a quick 60 second test here at Futuremark. Just click on run 'VirtualMark' and just follow the on-screen instructions.

This should give you a rough idea of how good your computer is. I was going to post a screen-shot of my test results, but lets just say that I'm not a big fan of being ridiculed.

There are a few more programs you can use that will give you even more detailed information about your system and it's performance. Here are a couple:

2. 3D Mark & PC Mark

If you're really interested in some hardcore numbers, then I would suggest giving Prime95 a go.

There are quite a few video games that will be releasing in 2009 and I'm going to list the top 5 games that I am looking forward to. These are games that I've been waiting for since the day they were announced. In fact, I've already started saving up to actually go and buy some of them.

So, without further adieu, here's the list:

1. Starcraft II: This has to be one of the most highly anticipated games of 2009, if not of this decade. The sequal to Starcraft, which by the way is still one of the most popular games in the world, is looking like it's going to quite literally be as awesome as it's being hyped up to be.
   This is going to be a little different from Starcraft and I'm not talking just about the looks either. Blizzard has said they will release 2 expansions for this game, each focusing on a particular race. The game is still an RTS, but the mechanics have changed just a little bit. According to Blizzard, they've been "re-imagined".
2. God of War III: Good God! Kratos is back.. If you've played GOW (God of War) I and II, then you don't really need me to tell you why this game should be on your list of games to definitely get in 2009. But just for those who have not been fortunate enough to get their hands on the previous version let me spell it out for you. The GoW series is one of the most bad-ass that you will ever come across. If you are into any kinda of RPG games, this one takes the cake. Not only are the graphics mind blowing, but so is the game play. And for all those out there who love a good story, this game's got that too.
3. Bioshock 2 : I played Bioshock and I really really liked the game. I can only expect this game to be better. A lot more will be released about this game in the coming months, but from what I've seen (trailer) I'm pretty sure that I'm going to love this game as well.
4. Call of Duty – Modern Warfare 2 : I'm quite a fan of the COD series. I had minor issues with 2 and 3, but all in all the series has not disappointed. The Single player campaign is quite entertaining and pretty good for a one time complete, but the COD Multi-player is the most fun. Activision Blizzard has confirmed the release of COD 6 or Modern Warfare 2, as it's known, for later on this year. If you don't already have it on your must buy list, you should seriously consider it.

5. Splinter Cell: Conviction : There has been much debate as to when this game is going to be released, but one hopes that it will finally be released this year. After having played Pandora Tomorrow and Double Agent, it's only fair that I give Conviction a try. I really enjoyed Double Agent, and I played it on a computer that barely managed to run it. Now that I've upgraded I'm all set to help Sam Fisher do whatever he needs to, at at least 60FPS! I'm quite looking forward to the game.

So there you have it. My top 5 games to look forward to this year.

Oh, I'm not done yet. There are a couple of other games that are either already out or will be out shortly that need to be mentioned as well.

• Tekken 6 : Don't tell me you don't want to play Tekken!
• Fear 2 – Project Origins : I haven't gotten my hands on the full version yet, but boy oh boy was the trial a nice treat. Hoping to get my hands on this one soon.
• Resident Evil 5 : Who doesn't like shooting Zombies. The PC version of this game should be out later this year, but until then, I'm sure you can make friends with someone who has a PS3.
• Halo 3 – ODST : Another Halo game. Definitely worth giving a go. I havn't played it yet, and probably wont bother with it until I've tried Fear 2 and until I finish Prince of Persia on my new comp (Yes, old game, but I'm a BIG fan.) But since it's a Halo game it deserves a mention.
• Duke Nukem Forever : All I know is that this game is going to be badass. I've been waiting for this game for a while now and I can't wait for them to finally release it. This game was probably the reason why people started blaming games for why kids are so violent. Too bad they never played it themselves.
