line social network. It lets us share different interesting pieces of the internet with our contacts privately or with everybody on the internet publicly. Along with putting up simple text as our status message (in which we can type URLs), we can also share pictures and videos which our followers are able to browse and view in quite a friendly user-interface.
When online networks such as Facebook and Twitter started having an increasingly large number of users, third-party applications were required to facilitate users and make their Facebook/Twitter experience more convenient. Since Google Buzz is experiencing a similar trend of an exponentially increasing number of users, it was expected that desktop applications for Google Buzz would soon be created by non-Google developers.
Today we have exactly such an application which is appropriately titled Google Buzz Desktop. The official webpage is in Spanish so to avoid confusion, simply head on over to the bottom of the page and click on the DOWNLAOD GOOGLE DESKTOP BUZZ link.
The file you download is a cross-platform AIR-based setup file which is just under 1MB large. Open the application after you have installed it and proceed to enter your Gmail information.
After entering the right information, we are instantly shown our Google Buzz feed.
Overall, Google Buzz Desktop needs major improvements in terms of the language used. For instance the refresh button at the bottom right confuses users as it is in Spanish. Other controls are in Spanish as well which will limit the audience of this tool.
However the desktop application for Google Buzz is definitely a necessary tool and hopefully Google Buzz Desktop will bring forth a wave of such applications which will be better in functionality and provide better usage for English speaking users.
