Create Tilt-shift Miniatures with TiltShiftMaker
Tilt-shift photography is use of camera movements of tilting the lens and shifting the lens. Tilt-shifting requires the use of special cameras that allow your lens to be rotated or shifted.
Tilt-shift miniature faking is the use of image manipulation to achieve the same effect. This causes a life-size object like a building to look like its miniature.
You can use Photoshop and other image editing software to create the tilt-shifted photograph, or you can use TiltShiftMaker.com.
By moving the horizontal slider that you can see in the above photo you can change the focus size. Any portion of the photo outside the focus area will be blurred. You can then move the vertical slider to focus on the portion of the photo that you want to create the miniatures of. As you can see, I focused on on a set of buildings above.
Hit Preview to see what your image will look like or Get full size to download the resultant photo to you computer.
The photo above is a sample available on the TiltShiftMaker website. You can also upload your own photos or fetch one from the Flickr or elsewhere on the web.
Tilt-shift miniature making works well on photos of buildings or similar. If you create a tilt-shifted picture using TiltShiftMaker, you can choose to add the same in their Flickr group. Your photo could get featured in their photo gallery.
