I’ve always been on the hunt for a good downloader, and whenever I found one, there would be some problem or the other. I stumbled upon Orbit Downloader.
Orbit Downloader is a great speed, super light,easy-to-use and free rich media downloader. It is based on p2p and multi-source downloading technology and supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, MMS and RTSP protocols.
Orbit Downloader does what it promises to do and does it well. The features page has a great listing of all that you can do with the software. My two favorite features are the Video downloading feature and the Orbit net feature that automatically searches for different sources for your download.
On the video point of view, whenever you’re over a video / flash file, Orbit popups up a small “Get it” window that allows you a direct download.
Alternatively, you can also enter the url directly and it fetches the url of the video file and converts it to FLV format.
And for those who love Rapidshare, Orbit Downloader helps get your files from there too.
