DoubleClick sells for $3.1 billion

Google

Ars Technica reports that Google will be buying DoubleClick for $3.1 billion. This makes it Google's biggest acquisition and is also an excellent way of thwarting the competition that DoubleClick presented to Google's Adwords program.
It will also extends Google's reach still further into the advertising world picking up all the clients of DoubleClick. As for publishers, would this mean additional revenue?
