Multimedia Monday: WavePad

WavePad is a FREE audio editing software with features of several expensive sound editing software. It lets you make and edit voice and other audio recordings. When editing audio files you can cut, copy and paste and, if required, add effects like echo, amplification and noise reduction among others.

Tip Thursday: Disable UAC in Windows Vista

I just received my new Dell Laptop today and it came preloaded with Windows Vista. The first thing I noticed (and ofcourse which I knew about) was the User Account Control. User Account Control is a brand new feature in Windows Vista that lets all users to run in normal user mode without administrator privileges; something that Linux has had for quite a while now.

My past years of experience in maintaining computers, both of mine and my friends has taught me that people are not very aware of SpyWare. Agreed that this is a lot better than a few years back when spyware was just beginning to raise its ugly head. We have several spyware tools (which I shall look at in the coming weeks) that will work wonders after the spyware has infected your PC.
