I did chronicle my experience about my post Why The Digg Mafia Will Cost Kevin Rose Millions!

Though there were traces of the existence of the mafia, no one proved it until Pronet Advertising used a script that worked on top of Digg Spy to reveal previously hidden information of who was burying which posts.

Everton decided to blog about the same and the post was submitted to Digg. What was really surprising was that the post was buried within five minutes of it being posted. I don’t think even the Digg mafia is so efficient as to bury a post within five minutes, which shows that it could have been somebody at digg itself who must have buried it.

Another possibility recently several sites (including Everton’s) were unbanned by Digg.

However, I believe these are being heavily monitored and any “improper” article is being quickly buried.

Can you think of any other possibilities?
