The update is stated as a low-to-medium priority, but as with all upgrades it is advisable to do so, especially since 2.0.9 includes a security update.
2.0.9 is meant for users running the 2.0 branch and 2.1.1 is for those who wish to move to 2.1.x versions.
For those updating their respective installs I have created two small zip files which only contain the files updated. These need to be extracted to your blog root. Remember to run wp-admin/upgrade.php after you extract the files.
I have used these files to update two 2.1 blogs and three 2.0.7 blogs on different servers. The update files contain only those files listed on the release post. I’ve just saved you the trouble of uploading everything / sorting out what to upload.
Contents of wordpress-2.0.9-update.php

You cannot use these update files if you are not using version 2.0.7 or 2.1 respectively.
If you have used these updates, do blog and spread the word about them.
