WordPress 2.1.1 and 2.0.9 released
The WordPress development blog announced the release of WordPress 2.1.1 and 2.0.9.
The update is stated as a low-to-medium priority, but as with all upgrades it is advisable to do so, especially since 2.0.9 includes a security update.
2.0.9 is meant for users running the 2.0 branch and 2.1.1 is for those who wish to move to 2.1.x versions.
For those updating their respective installs I have created two small zip files which only contain the files updated. These need to be extracted to your blog root. Remember to run wp-admin/upgrade.php after you extract the files.
I have used these files to update two 2.1 blogs and three 2.0.7 blogs on different servers. The update files contain only those files listed on the release post. I've just saved you the trouble of uploading everything / sorting out what to upload.

Update: I have updated the 2.1.1 upload to delete some extra files that I had missed. Not really an issue if you haven't been editing the core. (Thanks Phil)

You're welcome
awesome!
Thanks Ajay!!!
have a nice day
cheers
gidibao, you're welcome. Have a nice day too.
Thanks for bundling these, Ajay. It cut my upgrade time down by a significant margin.
Glad to know it helped you…Thanks for the post and the link.
Always happy to support folks who do most of the work and make my life happier and easier.
Thanks a lot Ajay,
this was really helpfull!
I'll certainly be back with the next update.
Well, I'm hoping you're going to be back more often than that
Thanks for providing this!
Hi– great, thanks for doing this. I noticed, though, that you had some files in your 2.1.1 bundle not mentioned as changed on the WP site. Specifically, ones like wp-includes/js/quicktags.js. I had hacked that file for my own use, so I noticed it right away. Was that an oversight?
Thanks Ajay, but couldn't you have hosted it somewhere without so many popups? You could have asked me for instance!!
Thank you so much for this! You made a process through which I always grit my teeth a little into something painless.
@wyckedone, you're welcome.
@Phil, I guess I must have missed deleting those
@Hannah, You're welcome
@Everton, I didn't realize that Mediafire has popups. Guess Adblock and IEPlus have shielded me from that!
thanks ajay, but mediafire is very slow to load. I suggest that next time you host your file at another place.
I've put up an alternate download at Files Upload and updated this post.
Very very convinient. Keep up the good work!
Anything like this for 2.1.1 to 2.1.2?
harrisony, 2.1.2 requires that all the files be uploaded, hence I have not made such a file available.
however, if you have shell access, then this post will help you.
Hi Ajay,
Do you plan to release just the changed files for WP 2.1.2 as well? They saved me a lot work when I moved to WP 2.1.1. Thanks again.
Manu you're answer is in the comment just before yours
Oops… didn't read the full comment, my apologies
Nope I don't have shell access so the link u've given isn't of any use. BTW how easy/difficult is it to install from SVN? Is it open to all?
SVN is easy, but you will need shell access for that as well.
Also, you either need to have SVN installed server-wide (as I do on my VPS) or you need to use a SVN Binary.
If you don't hav shell access, you have little option than to use the traditional FTP, though I'm thinking I can find a quick way to do it that way as well.
