Less than a month earlier Google added a Start Page option for users of their Google Apps for Domain.
That was a feature I didn’t bother with since my priority is checking email. However, the new additions today have been extremely useful.
More languagues
A whole batch of new languages have been added. You now have Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and UK English.
Custom URLs
One thing I really hoped would come soon was the support for the ability to customize the URLs by which you could access email. This has finally been answered, with custom URLs now available. I’ve set mine to mail. which is extremely common and easy to use.
This ensures easier to remember urls and better branding. Now, what we need is the ability to completely customize the start page and the ability to embed the login box on our website.
Anyone at Google reading this?
Multiple domains
Do you use multiple domains for your email? You can now ensure that your users receive their email even if mail is sent to the other domains.
Emails sent to other domains that you add in your control panel are routed to your primary email address.
