DropBoks

I’ve been tracking a few Online Storage services.

Found another one via Tech-Buzz today.

DropBoks is a little website that allows you to securely upload and download your files as you please. No bells, no whistles, just an easy and quick way to store your files online.

Each account has 1 GB of storage space available. You can upload and download files (any format) as large as 50 MB.

How are we able to keep DropBoks free? We believe that if you offer a valuable service that is extremely simple to use, folks are happy to donate $1 for it.

They state that they won’t display ads and plan on running with a contribution of $1/user (atleast).
I’m not sure how they plan on getting along with this financial method. Even though users may donate, bandwidth costs are amazingly high.

Also $1 via Paypal, what about the transaction costs?

I don’t plan on using their services. Don’t use online storage services that much except for backup.

However, if you plan on doing so, please do donate.
