Google Talk and Orkut Integrated

Google has been busy integrating a lot of its services in the past few months and Orkut has been one of them.

For those who don’t know, Orkut is a social networking community run by Google and Google Talk is their messenger software that runs on the Jabber protocol.

There has been talking of the two being integrated and finally Google has gone ahead and done so.

You can go to the Settings Tab in Orkut and click on Google Talk Settings.

You have the option of either adding all your Orkut friends to Google Talk or selectively choosing which ones you would like to. I chose the former, because I am particular about who I add to my friends list :)

Once done, you will get a Success message.

Once integrated, you will be able to send scraps directly from Google Talk, as well as be notified of incoming scraps. Your friends using Gtalk will have a small green circle near their names, and so will you.

A new Setting is added to Google Talk as well.

If you wish to disable this service in the future, you can visit the Google Talk Settings page in Orkut to do so.

    Homie,
I already did add you but you never confirmed the add request. If you do that, you should get a scrap or two.

But, I accepted your add request. Can you add me again or give me a link to your profile.
